Besides that we gain a lot of weight regardless if we are actually eating or not… then we feel depressed because of it, then angry at the process and then we want to eat again – the circle continues.
Not to mention skin conditions, aches, swelling, and cramps…
But, in reality, there is so much more to this process. And women should always go within when such things are experienced. It’s time to reflect and receive important insights. Before PMS was identified as a mental health disorder, it was, in fact, considered a ceremony by Native Americans and those women who experienced it and were able to reflect appropriately upon that, were considered shamans. Native Americans have so-called Moon Lodge. That’s where women left for the time of their period and then came back with the sacred insights that the whole tribe was waiting for. Our period is supposed to be aligned with the actual moon cycle and can be as benefitting as it is uncomfortable.
