As professional dancers (or other performing artists), we hear a lot of stories from other professionals how difficult it is to leave the stage. Therefore, many people get literally stuck, because the attention from the audience we get is insane; it’s an art affair every time we walk in front of an audience. It’s an excitement, passion, hard work and showing off! And to be completely honest, I personally felt depressed after leaving.. But for just 2 months until I realized that it’s ok to let go without suffering.. And it’s not only ok, it can be done with grace just like Mother Nature changes her seasons, one cycle ends, another begins, it’s a perfect flow.

Profession of performing arts will always be extremely competitive; there is always someone younger, better looking and more skillful and they are right behind us knocking on the door and ready to take over. It’s important to make sure that what we do, really brings satisfaction to our soul and not only fulfill the desire to be noticed. Leaving this career needs to be done without thinking that we will never have this experience ever again and that we feel bad we will no longer get that attention..
We need to find another thing/activity that will bring deep satisfaction, and something that no matter of age or capabilities will give meaning to our life. And being of service to others, volunteering, working with kids or elderly, helping out in animal shelters etc. most of the time will bring unbelievable energetic charge.. I give you my word that you can find something that will give you a different type of energy (than from being on stage), but it will be the same in intensity and probably even more rewarding. There is life behind stage, I promise! And please don’t believe that this is the best thing in life, it is not.. Don’t be scared to explore your options and give anything a try!

And, I love you!
