Create a gratitude journal!!!

All of us have struggles, pains, obstacles and thresholds we need to overcome. We often spend most of our time trying to figure out how to deal with all of the problems at once and such approach brings nothing but frustration. By constantly focusing on what’s wrong, we rarely accomplish anything good. Comparing ones self to others who experience “real” or “worse” issues than us, will not create any positive outcome either; we already feel bad, and now we send ourselves on a guilt trip for ever complaining. We need quality breaks for our head to prioritize the problems we experience and to work on them effectively one issue at a time. That “quality” can easily be found in gratitude.

Gratitude can be the greatest antidote to our worries. And yes, it’s often seems impossible to find something positive when all the things go down… When the pain is so overwhelming, we neither see the way out, not the slightest crack of light on the wall of a sorrow.

However, finding that little bit of goodness in life can bring some promising results, spark the hope that the things will soon get better and that we are strong enough to deal with it. Although in the beginning, it may seems like very little to be happy about, with consistent practice we may find a lot of blessings to put in a gratitude journal after all.

If you absolutely cannot find anything good, here is a little help to get it going (answer the following):

Are you able to go to the bathroom on your own?

Do you have any clothes to wear?

Are all the parts of your body still present?

Do you have a bed to sleep on?

Are you able to find water to drink?

Do you remember what your name is?

Although such silly things may sound incomparable to the struggles you are facing, imagine how would you feel if even one of these answers would’ve been “no”? Truly imagine!

To start the healing process, get a gratitude journal and every night before bed start writing at least 5 things to be grateful about. Observe how this list will grow!
.

And, I love you!
