Why are you so empty???…

When we hear these words, what comes to mind? That someone is shallow, emotionally unavailable, has nothing to talk about or is not able to listen.. Or all of the above and beyond. We perceive it as such because we have previously learned that “empty” means “lack”, “nothing there”, “dummy”…
.
But a lot of times, especially today, when the amount of information runs wild, people are tense and overwhelmed, being “empty” can mean something else.
.
How many times during the day we are actually “being”? Just being? With no thoughts and emotions attached? Probably, never… Or may be only during sleep when our body gives up and the brain can’t process information any longer. And even then, by laying in bed, exhausted, we are filled with the unsettling thoughts about tomorrow or the emotionally charged events of this, already passed, day… We can’t sleep and become the prisoners of our own courageous mind, that is willing to take over the universe right here and now…
.
We lack the skills to meditate. We don’t want to invest any time into learning to be present and emptying our mind. Thus, we refuse to be free of the drama of the day, or of the drama of the ego.. It’s an addiction and it’s calling for our full attention. But the good news are, we have the capacity to do change.. With some practice we can make this happen.
.
To receive any new information, any healing, and insights, it’s so important to empty that bucket of thoughts and emotions that our mind holds on to. Being empty means being open and having nothing inside to torture ourselves with. Or to torture others.
.
And with that peaceful inner emptiness comes a space for new information, for healing and capacity to see the world in the entirely new way, that is not influenced by the baggage and garbage of the past, or by unreasonable and stressful worries of the future.
.
And, I love you!
