Dedication is THE Key.

There are so many times that we have to make a decision to start something exciting and new, or to quit something unnecessary and old, but we don’t follow through with it because of many BS things like the lack of motivation, our unstable mood and/or other life’s circumstances.

To master anything in life, we have to make a choice; we either go all the way despite of our surroundings and inner hesitation, or we fail to discipline ourselves. And we don’t see it as a big problem at the moment of quitting, we say; “Well, I can always start that diet next week”, or “I will take that class again later”, or “I dont feel like I should do it at all, that’s just not ME”. We will ALWAYS find justification for NOT doing something.

Sometimes, making the choice to NOT move forward is the only thing that keeps us from winning. Everyone can find that will power to make the RIGHT choice and dedicate one’s self to a set purpose, and, when the results begin to shine, we get intrinsic encouragement to keep on going. And yes, if you are a human, you HAVE the will power in you; for many years you were just convincing yourself that you didn’t. As they say, motivation comes from doing, and not from “thinking”.

Sometimes, disciplining ourselves and going through with that plan – it’s all it takes. The steps don’t have to be big; we will not become athletes and train 4 hours every day when we worked out twice a month during the past year. We start by going to the gym twice a week, then 3 times a week and so on. It takes time and effort to get anything we desire.
And, it’s sounds easy when we are talking about something that in reality requires little effort. But when it comes to some serious decisions like battling an addiction, for instance, one slip may cost a life-long process we dedicated ourselves to; when we have that discipline in place, and we keep on going despite any urge, temptation or other influences; we will win over whatever damages us.
