Emotional Freedom Technique / EFT
with Tapping

Rewire Emotional Responses.
Regulate the Nervous System.
Reclaim Your Power.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), commonly known as tapping, is a powerful mind-body tool that helps calm the nervous system, release stored emotional pain, and reprogram limiting beliefs. Drawing from both acupuncture meridian theory and modern psychology, EFT uses gentle tapping on specific acupressure points on the face and body while focusing on distressing thoughts or emotions — allowing you to process and neutralize them in real time.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I use EFT to help clients move beyond surface-level awareness and access the emotional and energetic root of what’s holding them back — whether it’s anxiety, shame, grief, or unresolved trauma.
How EFT Works / Backed by Science
EFT is based on the principle that unresolved emotional disruptions can contribute to both psychological and physical symptoms. When you gently tap on specific meridian points while tuning into an emotional issue, the body’s stress response begins to shift.
Clinical research has shown that EFT:
  • Reduces cortisol (stress hormone) levels significantly after just one session
(Church et al., 2012)

  • Regulates amygdala activity, calming the fight-flight-freeze response

  • Enhances heart rate variability (HRV) — a key marker of nervous system flexibility and resilience

  • Is effective for treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, and phobias
(Feinstein, 2019; Stapleton et al., 2016)

Unlike talk therapy alone, EFT involves active body engagement, helping the mind and nervous system communicate more clearly and resolve stress patterns from the inside out.
What EFT Can Help With
EFT has been shown to support healing in areas such as:
  • Anxiety, panic, and overwhelm
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Limiting beliefs and low self-worth
  • Chronic stress or burnout
  • Shame, guilt, and emotional numbness
  • Physical discomfort with emotional roots
  • Fear of success, failure, visibility, or intimacy
In addition to symptom relief, EFT often leads to increased emotional clarity, energetic balance, and self-compassion.
What to Expect in a Session
During an EFT session, we’ll:
  • Identify the emotional or somatic issue you’d like to work on
  • Rate its intensity to create a baseline
  • Use guided statements as we gently tap on meridian points (like the side of the hand, eyebrows, temples, under the eyes, etc.)
  • Track shifts in emotional response, physical sensations, and subconscious beliefs
  • Integrate what emerges with reflection, breathwork, or Reiki (if desired)
Each session is tailored to your goals, pace, and nervous system capacity. Whether we’re releasing a moment of stress or working with deeper trauma, the process is gentle, affirming, and empowering.
Why EFT Fits Into Integrative Healing
I use EFT in combination with other modalities like EMDR, somatic therapy, KAP, and energy work to support multidimensional healing. By tapping into the body’s wisdom and the subconscious mind, EFT becomes a powerful bridge between insight and integration — helping you not just understand your patterns, but begin to transform them.
You have the power to shift your internal experience — you just need the right tools.
If you're ready to release what no longer serves you and reclaim emotional freedom, I invite you to explore this gentle yet effective practice.
